Internationales Symposium zum Thema Sport und Geistige Behinderung

Im Rahmen der 6. Special Olympics National Games in Karlsruhe veranstaltet Special Olympics Deutschland in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Sport und Sportwissenschaft der Universität Karlsruhe von 20. bis 21. Juni ein internationales, wissenschaftliches Symposium zum Thema Sport von Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung in der Europahalle in Karlsruhe.Nahezu 60 Teilnehmer von Universitäten, Sportvereinen und Organisationen der Behindertenhilfe werden sich über den aktuellen Forschungsstand des Zusammenhangs von Sport und geistiger Behinderung und über trainingswissenschaftliche Grundlagen des Sports für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung informieren. Z iel des Symposiums ist, die Kooperation zwischen Universitäten, Sportorganisationen und Special Olympics Deutschland zu vertiefen und gemeinsame Projekte für die Zukunft zu entwickeln.

Passend zum zehnjährigen Jubiläum greift die Redaktion des einzigen Magazins von und für Menschen mit Down-Syndrom mit “Abenteuer Liebe” das Thema der ersten Ausgabe auf. Dass auch eine große Liebe nur wenige Worte braucht (“Sagen, umarmen, an schaun”), romantisch ist (“Der Prinz reitet auf seinem Pferd und kommt zu mir und küsst mich”) aber manchmal auch ganz schön weh tun kann (“Liebeskummer ist, wenn das Herz kaputt ist, muss man viel weinen”) zeigen die vielen kurzen und langen Texte rund um die schönste Nebensache der Welt. “Quality of life and resilience among older Britishers” am 12.6. in Berlin

Vortrag von Prof. David Blane, Imperial College London, zum Thema “Quality of life and resilience among older Britishers: Cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses”. / Lebensqualität und Beweglichkeit unter älteren Engländern: Querschnitts- und Längsanalysen

“The presentation will describe the idea of positive quality of life at older ages, together with a pleasure of it – CASP, which is the acronym of Control, Autonomy, Self-realisation, Pleasure. These issues are explored in the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, where high CASP scores (good quality of life) are associated as much with a person’s social relationships and with their material circumstances. Using a second data set, the British Household Panel Survey, the presentation also considers resilience, by which is meant the ability of an older person’s quality of life to bounce back after the onset of such adversities as chronic illness or financial problems (…)” (Auszug aus dem Abstract der DZA)

Die Präsentation beschreibt die Idee einer “positiven Lebensqualität im Alter” und stellt eine neue Methode zur Messung der Lebensqualität vor:  Die Abkürzung CASP steht dabei für Steuerung (Controll), Autonomie, Selbstvertrauen und Spaß am Leben. Diese Faktoren werden in einer englischen Langzeitstudie zum Altern erforscht, in der ein hoher CASP-Anteil (= hohe Lebensqualität) verbund  wird mit den sozialen Beziehungen der Befragten und ihren  materiellen  Verhältnisssen. Unter Verwendung einer zweiten Datei betrachtet die britische Haushalts-Panelerhebung auch den Faktor “Beweglichkeit”. Untersucht wird dabei die Fähigkeit  älterer Menschen, sich von Rückschlägen wie   chronischen Krankheiten oder finanziellen Probleme zu erholen und die vorherige Lebensqualität zurück zu erlangan.

Türkei – Gefahr oder Chance für Deutschland und die Europäische Union?Podiumsdiskussion zu der Studie „International Migration Debates within the Context of Turkey-EU Relations” von Prof. Dr. Içduygu

Internationale Migration ist seit jeher ein zentrales Thema im Rahmen der deutsch-türkischen Beziehungen.Viele EU-Mitgliedstaaten sehen in der Türkei noch immer vor allem ein Herkunftsland von Migranten und schüren die Ängste vor unkontrollierbaren Einwanderungsströme. Vor allem in Hinblick auf die zum Teil zögerliche Integration türkischer Einwanderer wächst die Angst vor kultureller Überfremdung und einer zusätzlichen Belastung der Sozialsysteme. Dass Migration auch eine Chance sein kann angesichts des zunehmenden Fachkräftemangels in den alternden Gesellschaften der EU ist dagegen noch kaum bekannt.

  • Hospize und Stationäre Pflegedienst

Ergänzt wird der Wegweiser durch eine Listung aller Landkreisen und kreisfreien Städten alle Adressen und Ansprechpartner rund um das Thema “Pflege” auf. Die Broschüre steht als kostenloses Download auf den Seiten des Ministerium für Arbeit, Soziales, Gesundheit und Familie zur Verfügung.
